Well, it looks like the site is finally ready. We’re gonna start circulating links tomorrow and then it’s up to the incredible-edible-internet to work its magic and produce a community of regulars, lurkers, curious inquirers, and spambots peddling Viagra. On the one hand, this site should provide a nice way for us to keep in touch with our friends we’re leaving in FL. But, on the more selfish “other” hand, there is the hope that we’ll get a few posts from people along the way telling us places to visit, things to see, things not to see, the whole shebang. I’m looking forward to this because it will give me the opportunity to meet all sorts of people, particularly a brand I don’t often get to chill with, but with whom I always have a good time: hippies.
According to Pete, short busses attract hippies like mimes to a subway (well, something like that, I think his analogy made more sense). Now, what he meant was that people walking by who are of a bohemian persuation would probably say something along the lines of, “Hey, nice bus”. But…. I couldn’t help picturing 200 copies of Shaggy from ScoobieDoo flying in from the brush and going into orbit around the buss like a swarm of angry of bees. Come to think of it, as long as the bus doesn’t attract bees, I don’t care who we meet.
PS: word to Andrew Sherrill, our resident hippie.

so we are two days away from the official beginning of the trip. dave and i are hurriedly getting the website prepared and uploaded. dave is doing a lot of the actual work and i just sit back and bitch about how i don’t like website coding. any input on the site is much appreciated and can be submitted via email or comments on the blog. dave and i still need to prepare for the trip and actually maybe pack some items for it. it will be a great feeling when we are on the plane on thursday and only have to worry about making this trip great. a even greater feeling will be on friday after we purchase the bus and are on the road. we have started to receive suggestions for stuff to do and places to go on the trip and we encourage anyone out there to suggest more. when the plans section of the website is up(hopefully tomorrow), you can take a closer look at our basic plans and the anticipated days that we will be where. we really would like to go to some festivals or local carnivals. we are also dorks and would like to know of any good shows/concerts/events concerning anything from musicals, to bluegrass jam sessions, to pink floyd light show. we are up for anything!
